Once believed to bloom only once every century, science has proven these plants bloom about every 15 years. One of the US national flowers. Cold-hardy to sub-zero Fahrenheit. The Aztecs called this mescal, and made alcohol from it. It's from the word mescal that the word Mescalito is believed to have come from.
